I was doing my occasional motivational video session which involves watching a few vids of a Ferrari F355 having it's tail stood on and I stumbled across this video:

Now you'll notice that both of these guys are wearing scarves. You'll also notice that they're in short sleeves so it's not cold, so it must be a fashion thing.

Am I the only one who thinks that a dude wearing a scarf is ridiculously pretentious? It just puts me off anyone instantly, it's almost as if it's a calling card of people who think they're rich and want to flaunt it.

I mean if it's cold or you lost a bet and have Justin Bieber tattooed on your neck then by all means wear one, but come on, as a fashion statement?

Maybe I'm just getting old. Who knows

At this point I would post GradeAUnderA's awesome YouTube video on "Men's fashion" but given the profanity I don't think I can... ;)

I don't have this problem...

Got the air collar option in mine to keep head and shoulders warm if it gets nippy.

The younger guy in the jacket looks OK with it because he already has a long sleeved shirt and jacket on. In autumn I often see people wearing a scarf with a suit or sport jacket like this. (EDIT: actually I think it's a cardigan? Hard to tell on my phone).

But the older guy with a tshirt and scarf looks pretentious.

Also, just to point out, I live as much of my life as possible in shorts and flip flops, so I'm hardly a fashionista in case anyone's thinking that :D

The flowchart for men wearing scarves are as follows:

Is it so cold your breath freezes? ---- yes ----> wear a scarf

Don't wear a scarf

Because they are **** and they think it makes them look cool and flamboyant, when in actual fact it makes them look ridiculous. :p

I bet you're sitting at your desk dressed like that sipping a Campari pondering where to go for lunch. :D

Depends on the scarf! If it's freezing outside and the scarf is tucked into one's coat to keep the draughts out, then fine, I've been known to do this. If it's loosly wrapped around one's neck, without a coat and probably not even chilly outside, then no, stop being a pretentious ponce! Just my opinion :)
