I just noticed that 'Night Of The Demon' is showing on BBC tonight.
I remember this as being the very first movie that scared me, when I watched alone in a big, dark old house at the grand old age of 12.

What was your first 'scary movie'?

I don't think it was a movie but a series on terrestrial tv from years ago. It was a British series called 'Chiller' I think. Didn't sleep for a while after I watched the episodes.

Edit - anybody got any info on it, it's not even on IMDB.

I remember It scaring the bejesus out of me. Then again, I would've been 6 at the time.

Same as me, would have been primary school age anyway. Seen it at a mates house one afternoon, his parents probably thought ooh, there's a film about clowns to keep them entertained one afternoon during school holidays.

I think it was a Hammer House of Horrors thing to do with Dracula. All I remember is being at my Aunt's house and there was a devil dog and a vampire and I was ******** myself and pretending not to be scared.

I wonder how I could find out what that film was? It would have been 1982 at a guess. Hmm.

American Werewolf was the first one that really gave me nightmares :D

When I was a bit older I saw a bit of Nightmare on Elm St and the bit where the claws come through the bed freaked me out for a bit. Loved It though. Again, I was a bit older but by then I was really into scary films. The ending was a bit of a letdown though.

Horror films haven't been as scary as those back then, in my opinion.

Dracula, old hammer horror with Christopher Lee as the famous vamp.
Was about 8 or 9 at the time.

Ha ha, this rubbish scared the crap out of me and my cousin. Think we actually scared each other more with our hiding behind the sofa antics.

Childs play aswell. I was around 7 or so and remember poking all my toys for weeks after, before I went to sleep to see if they moved. If they didnt then I was safe for another night.
