Ok, I have set up SCCM2012 in a lab with WSUS and got it working in so much as, the updates appear in SCCM.

WSUS also sees the client computers and in a GPO I've set their update point as the WSUS server. Thing is, in WSUS, it says the computers have not reported in x number of days (as in, they've just stopped).

I've ticked so many different options and unticked options that I no longer really know what has caused the issue or how to fix it.

Any ideas?

So you've confirmed your clients are pointing at SCCM 2012 for their updates?

When you do an update scan what does windowsupdate.log say?

Not tried 2012 so only going from my limited knowledge of 2007

Are you sure the client has been installed on the workstations

IIRC in 2007 you don't have to create GPO to point to the update server, the SCCM client edits the local policy to point to the right place.

Client side log file. It will tell you what you are querying for updates and show you any scan errors.

Yep client has defo been installed on the workstations as they are showing up in SCCM2012. Paz I'll look on the laptops and see what the log shows

Ok the clients windowsupdate.log does show communication. In addition, in the SCCM2012 console under monitoring>deployments, I can see the updates targeted to 5 machines (test machines) but the compliance is at 0%. It just doesn;t seem to install them. The updates can also be seen ready to be installed on the clients in the SCCM config tool, but they never kick off. Hmmpf :(

In the client logs for Windows Updates are they trying to talk to the SCCM server or the WSUS box? Do you have a GPO setting the WSUS settings?

So you can see from the client log file that they are finding the 5 updates you've deployed?
(Obvious checks - update pkg on dp / deadlines / maintenance windows etc?)
