Scheduled Tasks not starting?

As following How To Schedule Tasks in Windows XP

I have scheduled that firefox and task manager are to run on startup, and up until now it works, but lately they haven't been running. I checked the scheduled tasks utility and they are still there, unchanged, so I don't know what would have happen to make it stop working?

have you checked the log in task scheduler?
View Log -----> Advanced

also is the task scheduler service running?
+ make sure on the 'Log On' tab in the servce window that 'Allow service to interact with desktop' is selected along with the local system account

you could try running them under a local system account. I think it's

NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
no password

I know that works on 2003 servers
