Hey guys im not sure if this problem is my own school boy error or not! I purchased the 4gb Corsair RAM from OCuK yesterday and it arrived today, but the 2 stick together wont work! I now have 1 gig of G.Skill and a 2 gig stick of Corsair and it's working fine?! Second lot of broken RAM from OCuK in a year or the fact im only running Vista 32bit? Also my ATI Powercolor 4870 1 gig arrived today and installed fine except all the text on my monitor is slightly blurry so any idea why?

Thanks :)

RAM not working as in Windows not loading/BSOD etc or are you simply unable to 'see' 4GB in Windows. The latter is due to 32bit limitation which you can google.

Are you running latest drivers for 4870? This may improve blurriness.

The blur may be as simple as not having clear type turned on or maybe you didn't fully un-install the old video drivers before you added the 4870.

ClearType Font TechnologyConfigure ClearType Vista

You may have read about Vista's new ClearType font. As the name implies it makes text easier to read on screen. I like this setting for laptop and flat-panel monitors, however, for older monitors you may find that disabling ClearType produces crisper fonts.

To see the difference and control ClearType:

1. Right click the Vista Desktop, Personalize.
2. Select: Windows Color and Appearance
3. Effects... and experiment with 'Standard'

Do both the new sticks work on their own?

I would test that first, determine if one stick is the problem.....

Check the voltages for the sticks, ensure you are supplying what they need.
