Been playing a bit of FIFA today, noticed a lot more timewasters/sore losers today, anybody else struggling to find a decent game since the school's have broken up for summer?

Which leads me to the question, should there be an age restriction on xbox live?

I suppose there is for certain games i.e GTA is an 18 but that never stops younger people playing it. How can you prove that you are over the age anyway?

I don't really think age restrictions would help entirely, it'll stop most of the idiot kids... but there are still a fair amount of jackasses that are 21+ on Live.

The only problem with that is how could MS do it.
Anyone could sign up for live and just let there kids play.

If parents bothered to setup Parental Controls in the consoles properly, then surely this would stop this...?

Good point well presented, something I never thought of to be honest.

But the amount of parents that use or probably even know about that feature is most likely fairly small.

In all fairness, most parents wouldn't know where to start!

/EDIT: Now you know what I have to deal with 25 hrs a week! My Year 10 option lads have talked consistently about CoD4 since it's bloody release! I dread to think what they're like on Live! :p

I realise that most parents wouldn't have the foggiest idea on how to setup the Parental Controls on a console, but a lot of these people are probably the same ones who go around saying video games are bad for their children.

The whole thing should come down to this really:
Would you buy or let your 8 year old child watch an 18+ Rated movie?
If the answer is yes, then let them watch the movie - but don't be outraged at the possible outcome. Whether it be nightmares, increased swearing or whatever.
If it's no, the child doesn't watch it.

The amount of parents out there that would answer No to that question and yet still buy their child an 18+ video game... I'd wager was the vast majority of them.

Heck I remember as a kid wanting to buy some games that had a 18 rating on them and being told I couldn't buy them by the store, so I got my mum to buy them for me instead... Despite that she would have flatly refused to do that for an 18 rated movie.

The fact is, all of these ratings are there for a reason... Smoking, Drinking, Driving, Movies and Games all have age ratings for a reason. If your buying your child something that they should have until they're 18 then you have absolutely no right whatsoever to complain that your child has been directly effected by it.

Just make the buttons close together like on the xbox, then they wont be able to play as their fingers are too fat and will mash all the buttons at once (Just like when homer becomes 300lbs).

The fingers you have used to play are too fat. To obtain a special gaming wand, please mash the buttons with your palm, now.
