Hi there,

Took my car round for a pre-MOT to a friend, who works as a mechanic.

While he had it up on the ramps, he blew the sills and various parts of the underside over with Schultz (even though they had no rust etc on them).

I'm a bit concerend beacause none of the surfaces were cleaned prior to the application of schultz, and as a result dirt/grit and moisture could have been sealed between the schultz and body work.

Is it normal practice just to put it on without surface prep first?

Cheers

So is my car possibly going to turn into a rust bucket because damp dirt has been sealed in, or will the shultz let the moisture out?

Body work is currently imaculate, so a crying shame to let other areas of the car let it down.

if the underside was that damp the coating wouldnt stick for long anyway. he really should have dried it out , as said but in practise it wont do that much damage.
however our local MOT is not that happy when cars come in with loads of underbody sealant just applied, and always double checks them.
