After getting lots of responses in my previouse thread (vaperised now) i have now narrowed it down to two:
deep space 9
sg1
Im more leaning towards sg1 ive seen the film and about 3-5 episodes of the long running series.
Ive found them all very cheap at 24.99 and 8.99 for the directors cut stargate film, so would it be wise to buy the film and series one together.
Also if i remember correctly wasnt kurt russell jack oneil and in the series hes played by richard dean anderson or are they two different characters.
 
Id go for Stargate. Kurt Russell plays Jack O'Neill (2 L's) in the film, but was replaced by Richard Dean Anderson for the tv series. For those prices i'd get the film and a boxset if you can.
 
DS9 4tehwin. ;)

Stargate is the only film i've fallen asleep in the cinema watching,it was uber bobbins.

As for the stargate series, pffft.
 
I'd say Stargate. Although I'm a big fan of Deep Space 9 I'd prefer to buy the Stargate movie/series. Then again I didn't start watching the Stargate series until the newer cast when "Jack" left and "the people from Farscape" joined.
 
I haven't seen DS9 but SG-1 is pure quality!!! RDA is a legend in it and you get that warm feeling inside everytime you see sg1 holding back those pesky Jaffa.

The first series is so good I want to spend all night watching it now! Hell forget typing more reasons to watch sg1 I'm off to start it all from the beggining.

The film is good in it's own right but completly different to the series. SG1 forever!!!!
 
The film sets up a lot of the characters that you meet in SG-1. Excluding Jack and Daniel you meet Kawlasky, Feretti, Kathryn, Sharay and Sakara. You also introduce Abidose which is where quite a few episodes are set.

Get SG-1; DS9 is good but SG-1 is so much better you have a great cast of characters sets and special effects. Not many shows make a scale model of the great pyrmid just to blow it up.
 
Ive got till friday (payday :D ) to make my decision of:

Stargate: the movie directors cut 5.99 and sg1 season1 boxset 24.99

Startrek deep space 9 season 1 67.99 :eek:

I think i would get sg1 cause i could buy about 3 seasons with 67.99 :)
