Aside from Mass Effect and Fallout what else is out there, is there anything balders gate style ?

There's the old Jedi games, where you level up and spend points in force powers et al. Pretty old school. I cant think of anythign top down Baldurs Gate stylee off the top of my head.

I can highly recommend KotOR (first one is amazing, second one is worth a playthrough!)

Not BG style but System Shock 2 is probably the best ever sci fi rpg/fps/etc hybrid.
