There are two different sets of insurance groups - 1-20 and 1-50.

1-20 is normally older cars. Although I'm not sure which year 1-50 came into play.

What? No its not. All cars have been classified into 1-50 groups as well.

Given the car in question I'm not sure it matters, nobody who can afford a 2.0 TDI Scirocco is going to be even slightly put out by how much it costs to insure.
