I was reading a few new sites and came across this.

I read the page and thought 100k is what it is worth to destroy someone's life. I think the amount offered is an insult, this made me think and look at injury compensation and.
I came to the conclusion this country's compensation for life-changing events is simple very poor, just wondering if anyone knows the reason why is so damn low.

What do you feel is the correct level of compensation 1m, 2m, 10m 100m?

Personally, I'm not sure as if you ruin someone's life, I don't know how you could put a figure on it but there has to be a ceiling somewhere

i can talk from a different perspective

i suffer from the bleeding disorder associated with this mess - fortunately i dodged the bullet

its impossible to put a price on the loss/distress

BUT at least any compensation should give the survivors some help in life

not unsurprisingly Haemophilia is not something most people are aware of - in my life i have only met one member of the public (outside of hospital) who suffers from it

but in other ways totally non medical ways it can affect your life

i was sent to public school at 13 years old - on my first day at the school the headmaster pulled me up on stage in front of the whole school and told them all about my haemophilia!!!!!!!

i was afterwards called The Bleeder

today i could have got millions for PTSD, lol

You say you read the article and then post misleading info about it.

I read it as well as the BBC article and both state that the £100k is an INTERIM payment i.e. not the full payment.

I assume, once the full investigation concludes next year, more.compensation may be forthcoming.

If you're going to be outraged, at least post correct information.

This really. It's supposed to be a compensation to help survivors with any life changing effects - whether that's purchasing medical equipment, or hiring help. It's not supposed to be a lottery win.
Put a low figure sends a signal that is a way out.
I personally feel they should get money to change their entire life. 4 million should do it.
It is a life changing event , it could have altered their path in life.

Again you haven't read the article(s) correctly so have an incorrect opinion.

Did you just not bother to read my post like you didn't read the articles?

The £100K is an INTERIM payment until the conclusion of the investigation next year. More payments may come.

However - This £100k is over and above the ongoing annual support payments that the victims and families have already been getting.

Everyone makes mistakes (done it myself) so I was pointing this out to you at post #6.... Why continue posting incorrect information?
