Ok, getting divorced.............

Thinking of selling PC and getting a Tablet. Why?

Costs.

Can i buy a Tablet and use my Giffgaff sim in it for internet? I want to save money and not buy into line rental etc.

Which Tablet?

I am not fussed. I just want a decent tablet that i can use with my Giffgaff sim to go online

Have you considered your data usage?

I don't think they (GiffGaff) have got any plans I'd like to use for anything more than e-mail. The plans they do have are mostly for phones rather than tablets. If I want mobile data on my tablet I tether to my phone rather than having a dedicated SIM (makes the tablet cheaper as well as you only need Wi-Fi).

You can in a slightly limited way. Policy here.

Non of their deals look very good, the best of them only seem to offer 6GB of full speed access.

When I last changed I ended up back on Tesco. 20GB of data for £20 and all of it can be used tethered. I sure there are better deals available, but I needed to be on O2's network which limits the options a bit.

You could also consider a mifi with a 4g data SIM. It might allow you to get a bigger data allowance.

Using mobile data as a money saving exercise doesn't make much sense unless a landline really isn't an option.

With cashback and other offers you can have an unlimited ADSL connection (including line rental) for under £20/month. Basic unlimited fibre isn't that much more.

Because you can't get one, or don't want one?

If you don't want one on cost grounds and plan to use mobile data instead it doesn't make much sense.

Anything interesting on the Internet uses a lot of data.

I recommend you look into three all you can eat data SIM deal. I get full speed all the time and average 50gb a month.

http://www.three.co.uk/Store/SIM/Pl...ll&data=All-you-can-eat&minutes=&type=alltype

You could try three by getting a 1 month contract that has unlimited data costing from £27 a month just to see if the three service is good or bad in your area, you would also have a reasonable 30gb hotspot tethering limit as well.

As for giffgaff you have a 6gb data limit then it is 256kbps a second regarding data and internet download speed.

So all in all, three is the only provider that stands out due to their data contentment just get a 1 month contract and your away but anyways i like to point out that you have to get the right sized sim card to go into your mobile or tablet this is important they did not have a universal size fit all so i ended up with 2 sim cards one big where you cannot get it smaller say sim size to micro sim or nano sim.

Anyways happy sailing give three a go that's all i am saying.

All in all pay as you go and 1 month contract is the same.

edit

here is my data usage i still get full 4g speed i expect it to be around about 50-60gb by the end of the month.
