So not all that happy with myself right now, just scraped my immaculate 6 month old Clio 200 along my wall trying to park it in the garage.

It seems to have gone down to the plastic, it feels rough to the touch in some places. The worst area is between the front wing/bumper and there are some lighter scratches above as well.

What's likely to need done and what should I be looking to pay? Will they be able to address the affected area or will the entire wing/bumper need doing too?

Unlucky dude. Did something equally as stupid myself in my old Focus.

My car had been away for 2 weeks for repair after I got rear ended, I'd chosen to get the front bumper resprayed at my own cost whilst having that done. The day I picked it back up, drove it onto my drive and just straight into the wall. Pulled straight back off the drive and went back to the bodyshop and was without the car again for 3 days. I felt a right prat dropping it back off.

I don't get so close these days :p

I once reversed a car out of the garage with the door still open. Rushing to work is always full of fail. :o

I told all my work friends someone tryed to break into my car as i would never live it down!

Blame it on the gf/wife etc :p

Unlucky OP! I'd imagine (though not at all clued up on this) that as its very local they could just address the affected area.

£40-£80 for a smart repair.

How effective are these? A friend of mine runs a chips away business, I have asked him to have a look at it but I obviously want a good finish.

I had a long list of excuses but thought I'd man up and suck it up :)

Just to add to the focus abuse, I back into a garage too fast and caught the wing mirror folding it back 90 degrees. That wasn't the worst bit though. There was a massive hook sticking out of the wall that gouged the passenger door panel right down to the metal.

I know someone who put a car right through the garage totalling the front wing and garage door, those pesky autos.

I have done a few wall scrapes in my time. They really do appear from nowhere

My wife managed to do 3 panels on the near side of her MX5 the other week, goodbye no claims, though as always Shorade made it look like new. Such a talent those guys have with paintwork.

I had a quote from a body shop to do a load of respray and dent repairs over both sides of the car and rear bumper which came in at just over £400 cash.

Smart repair place up the road is wanting to charge close to that just for my rear arch.

People seem to go to these smart repair places thinking it is cheaper and easier so they seemto charge more (well round here anyway). False economy imo unless it is a small repair for circa £120-£150

I know how you feel! It will be ok, you will feel better about it soon enough. You are still in the angry stage.

I did it on my grandads wall, went round to say hi as they had some money for my birthday, ended up spending all the money on getting the car painted! should have stayed at home :P And I knocked the wall out of place, eek.

unlucky. one of my mates hit a wall once, while trying to turn into a car park. worst thing was he stoped before he hit the wall but thought he could get around it so carried on going. the mark on the bumper was about a foot from the end, so not really a scrape
