So I rekon my bluray drive has scratched my Batman AC disk. As such in game cut scenes (and the loading nvideo start up screen) is really jumpy and jittery, to the point of unplayable.

Anything I can do about it? Does game still offer the scratch repair service, has it worked for anyone?
Really want this game back up and running with minimum cost...which suggest aquiring the game through other means, but why should I?

I think this is because the game is actually broken. I bet you are trying to play on DX11 settings?

The intro was always a stuttering mess, unless it used to play fine for you. I have not played it since it came out, still waiting for this new patch to fix all the stutters/dx11 and save files.

Don't think I have it in dx11 mode. And it worked fine before.

Worked fine before. This morning I put it in my faulty bluray drive (has a horrible grinding/screeching noise) and I think it's caused quite a few hairline scratches on the disk.

Hmmm is weird, I thought the disc was only used as a check to start the game, after that it should run fully from HDD. Maybe I am wrong, but you can get nocd patches which do away with the checks so I have no idea what is causing this.

Some googling suggests that sound stuttering is a known error. Think I should try reinstalling things? Will my game save data remain?
Do not bother with a reinstall the game still needs patching they are working on it now but say its taking a while as the save game corruption fixes break other parts of the game.

If you have the retail version it needs the DVD in the drive at all times otherwise it will not run (unless you find a nondvd patch).

Any DX11 or PhysX settings being enabled will cause stuttering as both are still partially broken.

Play in DX9 only with no PhysX until its patched & it will be ok.

Well I have GTA which is GFWL, Batman AA which is GFWL and Batman AC all GFWL with achievements and all need a disc inserted for me anyway. I had to download a nocd patch for GTA. Did not bother with Batman as it seems the patches do something to the game so some things don't work. GFWL are all games with achievements right? I do have some more but can't remember the names.

Oh wait, you might be right. The GFWL games I have are also steam games.

The latest patch pretty much fixed DX11 issues for me.

Yeah still not great though is it, they still admit they are still working on DX11 fixes on the website. I would actually playthrough on dx9 as that is 60fps maxed and plays well. But I am scared of the save game issue. I would be gutted to get 70 odd % and find my save game lost. IMO the save game bug is a school boy error, I don't actually remember one game ever removing my save games.

I wasn't happy as my save got lost... as for performance it isn't the greatest but it's fairly playable. I hit around 50FPS sometimes a bit more sometimes a touch less with Hardware Physx on and all other settings at max... :)

That is a nice framerate with DX11, with my setup I think I hit 30 max with DX11 lol before the last patch it was 20 I think.

Sorry to hear you lost your save, it is a weird bug, some people think it somehow happens when achievements unlock. But who know's
