Any one else get there console covered in light scratches ? The top of mine looks like its been wiped over with a scouring pad

Question is what do i do ? If i take it back to tesco's i wont have a replacment one as they only had 5 for all the pre orders they took so i would be without a console for a unknown length of time and i have just bought 5 games for it . Seriously peed that a £430 product can be shipped like this.

Personally I'd take it back or it will annoy you for the next 6-10 years.

Just looking for advise on what to do to be honest . Do i contact Microsoft and make them aware or just take it back to tesco ?

Depends if you put it on display or not really. Secondly, are you definitely sure there isn't a plastic peel -off cover on it?

There is definitely not a plastic cover on it . There was on the kinect sensor but not the console itself

OP wouldnt hurt to give M$ a call, think its a freephone number anyhow. See what they say, they may be able to ship another one out to you if you explain that the tescon you got it from wont have any more in stock to exchange.

Worst they will say is no go to Tesco and get them to sort it out.

For me it would depend where the marks are. Matte parts of it, I'd take it back. If they are on the gloss parts, I would not bother. The black gloss they insist of using on so much stuff is just crap and gets scratched by the lightest touch.

Looks good in pictures, and that's about it.

Would you happen to know the number for microsoft support ?;)

It is on the gloss part .I know this will scratch eventually but it should not be like it when brand new .

I wouldn't bother tbh.

If it was a TV or a phone or something I'd visually have to look at all the time, it may be different, but scratches on top of a console? Not worth the hassle in my books, you could get a Xbone with disc drive issues or any other problems, so is it worth it?

I agree with this guy. It may bother u now but eventually u will forget about it. It's not like it loses value or ur going to trade it in any time soon so it really doesn't effect u at all except is just looks bad to look at. I'm the same i ******* hate scratches on my stuff as i take good care of everything but i wouldn't make to much of it. U could also get a faulty replacement u never know.

It's a new console why wouldn't he bother? Shouldn't have scratches on it

Because you don't sit there admiring the top of your console when you're playing games, and after a while the novelty wears off.

It's completely his choice but he could get back an Xbone with worse problems. I'm just saying that _I_ wouldn't bother, unless it was an item which I spent an extended period of time looking at.

I can see the shiny plastic on the top getting loads of tiny scratches on it right away, especially after wiping with it cloth. Even with one of those soft screen cloths. My xbox 360 is covered in them.
