Seemed like a logical place to post this, but my case has some scratches, is there any product I can use to buff them out. I was thinking of using black shoe polish.

I'll try and get some pics to show the problem.

I tried normal car polish and it made it worse. But hopefully you can see the vertical streaks which I am trying to polish out.

Maybe its just me but i thought thats the "brushed aluminum faceplate"
If i look at mine it also has them,
And look at this image is seems to have them also.

Or am i being silly ?

Yeh it's brushed aluinium but the rest of the case is black but just certain areas have become faded if you know what I mean. Or as I stupidly put it scratched.

Yeah mine has the same thing. These Corsair cases are really awful quality. I wish I had just stuck with my Akasa eclipse.

I would contact Corsair, show them whats happening (looks like the anodising is fading around the edges) and see what they suggest, you never know, Corsair may just send you out a new front for you :)

Yeah i agree. I have the 800D and the 650D and while i'm happy enough with the 650D the 800D has paint chipping off the panels and although i've hardly used it the front of the case is starting to look like the OPs pics.

bit of an update - using oil did manage to bring back the colour and lessen the fading. I'll post pics later in the evening. I'll contact corsair though as the front facia it seems has a habit of fading. My case isn't anywhere near UV Light so I have no idea why it should happen.

Got a frew scuffs on the side of mine from where my chair has bashed into it. I've even put padding onto my chair to try and protect the case, but to no avail. :(

A bit of car glaze fixed mine up. It didn't leave any of that white powdery residue which helped.

Yep same here. Paint is chipping off the corners of the side panel where it rubs against the front panel. I'm going to blob a bit of car paint onto it to make it look a bit better, but you really shouldnt have to do this with a case thats less than 12 months old and cost £130 .

Hmmm,

My 650d did that with dust, silly question but have you tried wiping it with a damp cloth that has been rinsed in warm soapy water?

It was the same with my 800d if you had any oil on your hands or such when touching it, it had a similar effect on the front panel.

I tried a damp microfibre cloth on mine a while back and it made no difference. I don't know what it is but it was there when I bought it and is nothing to do with fingerprints or anything. Maybe glue residue from the protective sheet they put on?

Managed to clean it up with baby oil a few mins ago but its still not perfect.

I also own a Lianli and akasa eclipse and have never had this problem with their brushed alu.

After applying some Jasmine Oil. It's all we had at home, unless I used cooking oil - which I didn't lol

Note that lighting can play tricks on photographs, but the fading is not as bad as before. If you apply oil against the grain then the finish looks tatty. Therefore, I applied using a microfibre cloth using long vertical strokes.

Yes I tried doing that, and after the water had dried the fading re-appeared.
