Scratches on screen of replacement iPhone - twice

Had my iPhone 7 replaced under warranty, didn't use it and has been boxed while I tried out a OnePlus 5, with the intention of selling the iPhone if I liked it. As it happens, I didn't, so I took the iPhone out of the box, took the plastic wrap off, and immediately noticed scratching across the screen, mostly light surface scratches, but scratches nevertheless.

Now, the screen on the iPhone should be brand new. In fact, Apple guarantee it. So, while in London (I live in Loughborough), I took the phone into Covent Garden Apple store, and had it replaced.

I've just gone to set the new phone up, and again, there are scratches on the screen. This time, however, they're worse, and there are more of them. There are two locations where when air condenses on the screen, you can clearly see the areas affected (they're scuffed).

To be honest, I've had a nightmare with Apple's support. I got called a liar in Cardiff because the technician (without permission) looked through my texts and refused to replace the phone, since I had said I had never restored the phone from a backup, yet I had texts from 2016 (I used 3rd party software to restore the texts)

I'm not sure what to do from here. I don't have a car, so it's not easy for me to travel to an Apple store, and over the phone they're useless.

There are a couple of images below. The numerous tiny scratches were hard to capture, since it wouldn't focus properly. The scuffed areas are visible, however.
