Scratches.

On top of my intel dual core e2200 their are scratches 2 are deepish not major will that of damaged my cpu as i am waiting for my new board to arrive and the pins on my spare are bent i do not know if my cpu is damaged yet.

Scratches on the heatspreader shouldn't damage the CPU. How the scratches got there in the first place might have...

Is it just marks from the existing heatsink being removed? I'd wager the CPU is fine.

I notice the big ones after i unmounted the artic coooler 7 pro.

Im really ******** myself right now because the cpu did not work on my back up board i think i know why 2 pins are either bent or broke on the mbo.

Gonna rma that after xmas my gigabyte board is being rma right now due to bios brinking it i think.

The cpu booted up on the board with the pin problem just no screen when its layed flat sounded like stuff was working because i could hear it vibrating the cooler, just not sure if if its down to the pins which is no doubt the issue.

Just because the cooler works, doesn't mean that the CPU does...

How on earth do you cause that type of damage to a CPU and M/B?!

I didnt say the cpu works thats why im ******** myself.

The pins broke when mounting the cooler.

I like a lot people have had issues with the rubbish pushpins.

Most mobo manufacturers won't entertain an RMA if the pins on the CPU socket are damaged.
