anyone else experienced an issue with befenix specter pro fans where they make a scratchy noise on low speeds? they occasionally make a scratchy sound.

its happening with the 120mm and 140mm versions

does it go away over time? really like the fans otherwise but not convinced of bitfenix's build quality

should also say they are on a bitfenix fan controller and they make the noise regardless of speed setting.

My Pros are the same. It's like a bit of bearing noise. Shame though as otherwise I quite like them.

anyway to fix it with a drop of oil or something? its a deal breaker tbh. im gonna run them in overnight and see if it does anything but i get the sense from your post yours still make the noise so its doubtful.

really poor on bitfenix part tbh as they advertise these fans to work with a fan controller specifically one of their controllers

its really intermittent. i have them out of the case atm, free standing running at lowest speed.

the noise comes and goes.

im hoping a few hours of constant running will sort them out tbh as apart from the scratch noise they are good fans, the 140mm especially move a large amount of air even at minimum speed i especially like the ability to switch the leds on and off with the controller

the noise seems to of gone now. i did notice one of the 140mm fans was worse than the others, had a closer look at it wasnt in the frame right.

the spectre pro's are a dual frame, an internal bit that holds the fan bearing and rotors clips into an outer housing. mine had come away from the housing slightly, simply clicked it back it and its much better. the grating noise has reduced too now ive ran them over night

the fan controller is pretty good too. though one of the sliders came off when i was adjusting the speed, fixed it with a small amount of super glue
