Only a teaser so not showing much, though it does have a very different look to it being in a big city for once instead of a small town.

Full trailer added to OP, that does look very different from previous iterations.

I'm guessing the mask is going to be said to be one used in the original killings due to how aged it looks. Kinda taking a cue from Halloween 2018. At one point in the trailer there's a "trophy room" with costumes and outfits from previous killings in the franchise.

Love these films and the trailer looks good. Different but good.

Agree but it needed to imo. Theres only so many times you can have it in the same place without it going stale. The only odd thing imo is Sydney not being in it...

As much as I like Neve Campbell as Sidney I think the character was getting a bit stale, she basically had so much "plot armour" you know going in she's not gonna get offed. I don't think the movie will suffer at all for her not being in it as she always survives so its not like you're watching thinking "this could go either way". I think a break from her character is a good thing overall as we still have Gale to be the link to the original 3 movies.

I enjoyed Scream 6 but I cant help but feel they missed out on a big opportunity. With all the masks pointing to the past this would have been a good time to bring back Stu Macher, his "death" has always been disputed, its even mentioned in this about him maybe not being dead. It's maybe something they'll do at some point, I just thought everything was in place for it to happen in this instalment. I enjoyed this a lot more than part 5, part 5 just felt "off" to me for some reason.

Somewhat surprisingly, the movie didn't suffer at all with no Neve Campbell, which seemed to be a big worry among the fanbase. In terms of numbers its doing really well for a slasher movie as well, $30 odd million more than part 5.

Enjoyed it more than 5, prefer Sam over Sidney, far better protagonist. Gail looking more like skeletor with each movie. As someone else said, didn't suffer without Sidney although I did miss Dewey :(

Clocked it was the cop and daughter early on, didn't realise there was a 3rd killer though - also as soon as Quinn mentioned moving to the city after brother died, motive was clear as day

Kills felt a bit more brutal this time, relishing the sadistic nature of a knife quite a few times.

Cox is about 10lbs away from being a skeleton in a science lab ffs. Surprised the killers can find any meat to stab into.

Neve Campbell in the last movie was really looking her age as well. :(

Actress Melissa Barrera has been dropped from the upcoming new Scream movie after reportedly sharing social media posts which criticised Israel in its war against Hamas in Gaza.

The Mexican star was in the cast for Scream 7 but has now been fired by the production company Spyglass, according to Variety magazine.

A spokesperson for Spyglass said the posts were viewed as antisemitic.

They told Variety: "Spyglass' stance is unequivocally clear: We have zero tolerance for antisemitism or the incitement of hate in any form, including false references to genocide, ethnic cleansing, Holocaust distortion or anything that flagrantly crosses the line into hate speech."
he actress has posted regularly on Instagram about the conflict, and the magazine reported she shared a post that accused Israel of "genocide and ethnic cleansing".

The 33-year-old has starred in the two most recent films in the hit murder mystery and slasher franchise - Scream - released in 2022 - and Scream VI, which came out earlier this year. She played Sam Carpenter in both movies.

Wonder who's gonna take her place.

Seen another article saying Jenna Ortega may not be in it either due to scheduling conflicts with "Wednesday". So if that's the case, its a major recasting of the 2 leads, or a big delay on the movie, or somehow make it all about Sidney again for this instalment and only refer to 'Sam and Tara' in passing as they did with Sidney in Scream 6.

I don't understand why they do this in movies, especially the Scream movies where the protagonists have entire scenes dedicated to pointing out the stupidity of horror/slasher movie tropes.

When the killer was stabbing Gail in her apartment and Sam and Tara appear with a gun aimed directly at the attacker, why did they have to shout a warning before firing? Why not just pop the **** first and then say something witty?

Because the movies play into those tropes as well as making fun of them, basically always have.

Bring it back to Woodsboro and pay Neve Campbell.

Losing Barrera is bad but Ortega aswell!? You either have to go old school or just delay it.

I'd take Barrera over Ortega. Ortega I find annoying, little twerp that seems to have the same blank expression on her face constantly. Another Hollywood 'flavour of the month' actress that's got hyped up for some reason.

Well, seems Scream 7 how now lost it's director as well, so this movie is officially up **** creek without a paddle.

They'll likely have to go back to the drawing board on this, it'll undoubtedly be set around Sidney again as Melissa Barrera is now persona non grata as she was accused of being an 'antisemite' with her opinions on whats going on in the middle east. And shortarse is away doing other stuff so there's not much they can do unless they go 'retro' and have it focus on Sidney again, or wait for who knows how long before shortarse is available again, presumably without Barrera.

A remake would be even easier and cheaper to do, not that I'm too bothered. It's just if they carry on with the present storyline, which three characters would be killers? There can't be that many people left that are ****** off to go on a murder spree.

Technically speaking there were 5 characters in the last movie that were killers, so plenty of loons still about!

So seems like part 7 is in the works, directed by Kevin Williamson who wrote the first 3 and they're going back to Neve Campbell. Not everyone's happy with this, going by the comments on her IG. Some annoyance she's reprising the role due to what happened with Melissa Barrera speaking her mind which was (of course) interpreted as anti semitic by the production company.
