Screamer (2026)

I had no idea it was a remake, interesting. It does look like it's something I'd enjoy but 2026 is a long way off.
 
Could be interesting as I like the look of anime futuristic cyberpunk aesthetic.

I recall the first game and enjoyed it at the time though it didn’t really compare to what was available on PlayStation 1(ridge racer, need for speed, gran Turismo) unfortunately once I got my hands on that console.
 
Hmm doesn't really have any resemblance to the original other than cars drifting i think. The anime style probably wont help sell either. Totally comes down to whether the gameplay is fun and it hits maybe the nfs underground style with mods and street driving.

I dunno whether that is still a popular genre though as that was a long time ago
 
Old thread now, but i noticed it while browsing.

Screamer was one of my most played racing games as a kid, though it was on PC, which i think was the only platform? I love nostalgia and would rather play that again than a remake. its hard to see without actual gameplay, but i suspect going by the video above, it will just look like NFS etc but in anime theme sort of.

My mate had the original (or maybe Screamer 2?) on his MMX PC.

He liked it, but the rest of us thought it was terrible. He had no GPU so it ran like a slideshow.
