The other day I installed my new 8800GTX and Q6600 but since then the screen will just go blank as if I've just pulled the DVI cable out.
I've reinstalled Vista and have installed the latest WHQL 163.69 nivida drivers but I'm still getting the same. Its completely random.
Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks.

Hmm, not sure if its the same problem...

I just installed the UT3 demo and it would randomly lag and my monitor would go black as if it was switching off and then it would come back on (the game did not crash, i was able to continue playing). Ive not had that issue with any other game so i decided to try other drivers.

I installed the latest beta drivers from the nvidia site which solved the problem. :)

Give them ago, going by your post it sounds familiar to my UT3 demo problem, but as I've said i didn't have that issue with any other game.

The thing is when it goes blank the only way to get the screen to come back is to reset my machine. Its not like its been switched off but like I said in my first post its like the DVI cable has been pulled, not power.

Well I defintely think its my new GTX, I put my old GTS in and no problems whatsoever. Put the GTX back in and any type of video viewing I do it seems to go blank and I have to restart. Also tried the 163.79's and still the same, will have to RMA on Monday. Ace.

I sent my GTX back and they couldn't find anything wrong, boo. They've refunded me and I've reordered hoping this one might work. But the guy on the phone reckoned that it might be my PSU, does anyone else have a Q6600, 4GB RAM and a GTX running on a HX520W??
