Could do with some opinions on this.

Had this 6950 since April last year, never had an issues with it at all. Spent the majority of its life on stock settings, and a few months sat on a moderate overclock of 850/1350, so nothing too stressful.

Decided to start up WoW again with a few mates, and over the last couple of days (so since I have started playing it) I've been getting some rather nasty issues with it!

This doesn't seem to be happening all the time - it was quite happily playing for a good hour or so last night without issue. But come on this afternoon and within 5 minutes the corruption started.

Example of the issue at a minor state:

Example of issue at worst case:

Current afterburner stats:

Need some thoughts on this. Going to reinstall the drivers shortly, but I wouldn't expect drivers to cause this sort of issue.

It's obviously still within warranty, but I don't want to send it back to OCUK without trying everything possible first (and I don't want to be left without a GPU for however long it takes if it does need to go back).

Thanks. :D

So far, yes.

Been playing League of Legends without issue, and Project Reality (BF2 mod).

Battlefield 3 has been fine too. Seems it "might" just be WoW at the moment...

Have you changed anything you can think of since WOW wasn't doing this? Drivers, Afterburner settings, DX updates etc?

Is your fan speed locked to 32% Max ?

I know the coolers are quite good and the temps are ok but it does seem a low cooler speed for a card running at 70% + load.

Last time I was playing WoW was about 6 months ago, so yes CCC has updated since then, and general drivers.

There's a possibility the WoW Patcher client has borked my install - when I went to launch it for the first time again it needed to "configure" my files, so possible cause there?

No I've got custom fan profiles up. As soon as it hits 70C the fans will spool up a lot higher - few games actually push them up that high anyway as my ambient temperature is quite cool.

Aye, I'd say. Default or use recommend settings and tweak to your liking one by one until it goes away. Exactly the same thing happened to my daughter (HD4870) after she updated WOW a few weeks back and that's what I did.
