I I use my Samsung R60+ laptop on battery power the screen is dark. As soon as I plug into the AC it looks fine. I have tried the Fn key to make it brighter but no difference. I've also checked the power settings and this doesn't make any difference either. Is there a fault with my laptop or is this how they are supposed to be when you run them on battery power? I've only had it about a month so if there's a fault I can get it sorted.

Most laptops do this to save power when away from a power outlet.
If you have any Power saving software installed, it might be that.
Otherwise, I'd check the BIOS, as it has settings for brightness in most cases.

Sorted it. Had a dig around on the net and found some battery manager software for it. Looking a lot better now when using just battery power.

Good job. Usually it's just a software bug which sticks something in a certain state continuously.
Also, it may be helpful to others to post the software that fixed it, if that's OK with the mods?
