Afternoon gents.

Received a brand new BenQ G2420HD monitor today, rather impressed with the clarity and quality of it to be honest.

The only problem is, it flickers where there are greyish colours, any other colour and it's spot on.
Yea okay, refresh rates, checked them, anything over 60Hz and monitor is out of range, anything below 55 and it's out of range.

I read somewhere about changing it to 59Hz but ATI CCC just puts it back to 60Hz. The monitor is running at native resolution (1920x1080).

Put it this way, it's really getting on my nerves now, just sat here photoshopping and it's always there.
It supports DVI-D, HDMI and D-Sub, currently I'm using D-Sub as it's the only cable I have.

If anyone has the slightest idea, let me know, Thanks!

I have 3 g2420hd's for my eyefinity and none of them do that whether connected with hdmi, dvi or vga. Maybe you have a faulty one?

That being said you should try it on different settings than just the default one out of the box. Mine are all in photo mode with about 50% brightness instead of the 90% (!) that comes standard

I wasn't expecting that! I changed my settings to 65% brightness and Photo mode as well, and the flicker has gone!
Still, it shouldn't be present even when in Standard mode. Thanks for the help though.

P.S. How the hell did you manage to fit three on a desk!? Mine can only fit one and a half at best :o

You can buy a monitor stand from someone that holds 3 monitors which im going to do :)

I already got 1x Benq G2420HDBL model, will get another, not sure if to get one of them HDMI or not?, Benq G2420HD is the HDMI model.

Yep, the one I'm using is HDMI, if I'm honest there is no difference between DVI and HDMI. They are both digital, the only difference is HDMI carries over audio.
The audio is pointless if you're using it as a PC monitor though, if using it for other hardware such as XBOX or PS3 it can be quite good, still the audio out Jack is on the side of the monitor and wont look pretty.

At the moment I'm using D-Sub (analogue) which I think is causing flicker on dark grey areas, my new 5870 comes today though so I'll hook it up to HDMI.
