Screen flicker on G25 USB connection

When I connect the USB cable of G25 wheel to the machine my screen flickers. Even before I've actually pushed it in, like when the metal meet metal. Doesn't matter the USB controller I plug it into. It's only during connection. Once connected all is fine.

Seems like some electrical interference.

Anyone seen this before?

Is it just the G25 wheel, or other usb devices too? If so, is it all usb devices or only those that have external ac power provided to them (like the g25)? It could be that there's some current going into the usb slot itself, perhaps a bare connection somehwere in the case/motherboard, a screw stuck between the motherboard and the case etc. Might be worth opening the PC and checking for such things.
