Screen flickering issue - suspected PSU or graphics card

Evening all,

I've just tonight started experiencing some issues with my PC. The screen started flickering (almost as though signal was turning on and off) whilst playing F1 2010. I can't really narrow it down as to what is happening, I've changed the graphics card over (gtx460 to 8800GTS) and I'm just trying that to see if it is still flickering, but it has done it a couple of times during boot up.

This leads me to beleive it maybe the PSU though I don't really know how to best test it.

My system spec is as below:

Q6600 @ 3Ghz
2GB Crucial ballistix PC6400
HX 520W PSU
GTX460 (or 8800GTS)
2 HHD's
1 DVD drive

Can anyone offer me any advice / trouble shooting methods to narrow down what is causing the issue?

Note: I just reset the bios values back to default and the screen was flickering whilst in the bios screens.

Thanks
Dan

I'm guessing seen as it does this during BIOS, it's rather your monitor, or cables.
Check see if your monitor power cable is in correctly, then check see if your DVI cable is in correctly.

If nothing, It may be your graphics card, although I highly doubt it...
You could try with onboard graphics (If you have it) or another monitor.

sounds like a monitor / cabling issue. A simple low tech idea wud be to unplug all the cables, and blow them out, checking to see if there is any foreign bodies in the connectors, and then reassemble solidly to see if it helps. Cud try a new cable after that if u have / know someone with a spare, and then finally try a diff monitor
