i restarted my pc tonight to suddenly find that the screen display has flipped 90 degrees and the desktop has reverted to windows basic high contrast (ie black with white/yellw/green text boxes). all was fine when i powered down this morning! have managed to rotate it back to correct orientation- ctrl alt +arrows didnt work, had to use my nvidia graphics manager to change display orientation and then change my personalisation settings back to aero themes. i am just concerned with what could have caused it to happen, i turned it off this morning, house has been empty with no one messing with it and no updates have been done in the last cpl of days. anyone have ideas of what could have caused it?

Never heard of screen flipping ever in truth. Could have been a corrupt file or even a virus. If it happens again, run a virus scan and reinstall the nvidia drivers. Was/is the bios upside down?

bios were the correct way up. windows 7 started correctly (spinny dot logo), the when the monitor went to the blue welcome to windows screen it had flipped
