I was just wondering which would be best or are there any others ive missed.
And it doesnt matter about audio as ill be outputting by optical to my z-5500 or whatever its called.
any help would be good.
Thanks
John

Probably the Dell - you've got the capability of 1080p if you want it then. Depends really whether you want the TV tuner or not. But for the same price as the Dell, I'm sure you could get the Hannspree 37" TV. Then again, 37" might be too big for your bedroom...

I would say the samsung TV just for the 3xHDMI port as that would make connecting to the PS3 much easier via HDMi. PS3 can be a pain connecting to monitors as you have to be sure its HDCP enabled on the DVI port for BD playback.

Just to note A4 revision 2407s are HDCP compliant. :)

Im running mine on my PS3 and its spot on! Full 1080p support aswell!

I'd go for the Samsung, you won't notice 1080p on a screen as small as the Dell, you really need 40"+.

Why are you looking at 26" for £400 ? Can easily get a good 32" for that much. Unless you don't have the room on a wall?

I have the 40" Samsung (same model) and it looks amazing for both the 360 & PS3. 1080P not an issue for me as it will be a long time until everything is 1080P native anyway.

Or use Component :p

PC + tv + console screen = dell 2407wfp
Tv + console screen = samsung 40inch

personally i would not consider the samsung 26inch.

1080p means the game will run at 1920x1080 resolution, the dell can handle up to 1920x1200 if you are going to use it for your pc aswell.
Common sense indicates to me that if you are going to use 1920x1080 on a larger screen then the pixels are going to be stretched, obviously this will be less noticeable the futher you sit from the screen.
Please anyone correct me if im wrong :p

Oh i forgot to mention dell only has one hdmi port, ive looked at boxes to multiply the ports but they are ridiculous amounts of money.
So with the dell it would be 360 component and ps3 hdmi ( you need a hdmi to dvi cable for this ).
Im not sure what ports the samsungs have.

1:1 pixel mapping gives a 60 pixel bar at the top, and another at the bottom.
I dont remember if this is true or not due to sticking the ps3 on a 32inch samsung but ill take your word for it. The dell does have "fill" which i used to use it on and i did not notice any pixel stretching.

You mean on TVs that are 1366x768? I think there's some magic that makes the picture look normal. Don't really know how it works on TVs. Monitors with 1:1 mapping will output the picture at 1920x1080.

As said before, 1080p on a monitor/TV thats 24" is really barely relevant unless you are going to use it as a PC monitor as well. But as the OP said, it will be going in his front room.

I'm sure there's a fella round the corner who's got one of those 52" screens. You can watch TV from across the road. I always make a point of stopping when I take the dog for a walk. It's MAHOOSIVE. Would love to get Gears of War going on it.

Anyone got anything against the BenQ FP241W or FP241WZ? Thinking of getting one for a HDMI 360.

Nope, i'm using the BenQ FP241W and its superb. Using it for my 360 via component, PS3 via HDMI and PC via DVI.
