Screen Freeze and repeated sound

Hi, Having a nightmare at the moment, pc keeps locking up and then I get this repeated sound.....

Any idease where I should start to look

pc

Asus M2NPV-VM mobo
Connect3D x1950xt
1GB Ram
Onboard Sound
AMD AM2 3500+

run memtest on that RAM - is it 2 x 512?

Could it be the onboard sound???
