Screen goes black a couple minutes after booting

Can anyone help? I turned up the AMD overdrive in my GPU to the higher sorta stuff (stupid I know) and I get a black screen couple minutes after boot up, I already tried system restore, it hasn't worked, and the PC still runs while the black screen is occurring.
Specs:
Fx-6300
R9-290 DD Edition
8GB Black Dragon RAM
2tb HDD
600w PSU
Help?!

Have you tried safe mode?

I did try safe mode with XML prompt, did rstrui and it still hasn't worked.

l am assuming you don't have another gpu to fit? If you still have your old card fit that and see if the system boots.

If not then:

Open up the case and have a look at your R9 290, you should see a small switch, move this to the second position and then see if the PC will boot.

If it does, go into Catalyst Center and set Overdrive to default settings apply then disable

Overdrive.

Bios switch is near the back of the card just down from where the Xfire ports would have been.

Also maybe worth installing and running DDU to remove the drivers and then re-install them.

Btw what make is the PSU?
