screen going blank

Hi

I have a problem with my pc in that the screen goes black at random times and then then you have to reset the pc to get it going again.

This happnes whether I use the onboard VGA or the output from the AGP card.

What should I be testing/trying? :confused:

Update graphics card drivers?? that or maybe check if the graphics card is set in properly.

onboard & AGP drivers are the latest & the card is seated properly.

what are your specs? What OS?

you could try looking in the bios for memory timings/ram voltage/cpu settings

these could have triggered the black screen.

It's just a basic socket a sempron system that my kids use. I don't think any bios settings have been changed but I will reset then to defaults anyway just to make sure.
