HI all.

I recently updated windows due to auto updates it was 2 of em one security one a usual general one, then i started to have error when rebooting or shutting down but too quick to know what it said. Then when at boot it was going a very dark but green hue no picture but it generally came back on at signing in for windows. I also ddu and changed to a older more known to work driver from the latest incase it was that. I uninstalled the 2 win updates too. But it didnt help and is getting worse as today when i turned computer on it didnt resolve itself at sign in screen and was getting very worried.

I switched form a dp to hdmi cable but instead of black with a bit of green screen its black with lines horizontal, faint lines but lines. Sometimes when i turn the monitor off and back on it seemed to fix it but this morning boot it didnt work, luckily i put the password in and it went to desktop but still nothing but turned off mon and back on then worked.

I dunno how much longer i got till it wont do that.

Dunno what the issue is as when the screens on and comp been on a bit its fine most of the rest of the day. So not sure its the monitor, the gpu or the ram or mb or what and i dont like messing about troubleshooting with taking the comp apart and i dont have any spares really.

I do have onboard igpu but i turned it off in bios and dunno if i turn off to reboot i can get in bios to turn it back on and test if monitor works from a cold boot or boot or reboot later, i hope i can.

Could use some advice.

Its been happening say 2-3 days.

Oh and i tried a bios update incase it helped but hasnt.

I tried a few games to see if any artifacts would show but nothing. Its weird.

Tried taking expo off and enabling onboard gpu, didnt help the expo thing, but anyhow i fell asleep watching utube and the display just was black and no screensaver and couldnt get pic back on so luckily i had a tv behind my monitor tho its meh but for testing sake plugged it in and it displayed ok, if i dont get anything weird going on with this then its the monitor that was failing, i was wondering if a knock i gave it accidently last month did anything on the bottom right of it but it was fine so didnt think it was that but maybe it did somit, that or spraying frebreeze around the room might have done somit lol.

If it turns out to be just the monitor that was failing then great, the pc was actually fine all along then and it was a new build. Phew. Tho shame about my nice 32in aoc mon with freesync.
