Screen is really flickery

Hey all,

I got a Samsung S24B300 a few months ago, and I've only recently noticed that the screen seems to have suddenly become extremely flickery. I noticed a few weeks ago that certain parts of Steam looked flickery (mainly the background), but now it's affecting everything, even the window I'm typing into at the moment. It's subtle, but it's ever-present.

It seems to be getting quite noticeable. I've checked the cables are plugged in, and I'm using a DVI cable. Any idea how to fix this?

Thanks,
Steven

I don't have another PC or another monitor to try it with. I can possibly try an HDMI cable (assuming my card has an HDMI out, since I don't have an adapter to hand), maybe a VGA if I can borrow one from work.

It's not a common issue though, not a known fault with these screens or anything, and more likely some minor issue?

Also don't have one of those here with me. I'll try the HDMI later today. I'm slightly reassured that both suggestions so far have been about the cable rather than the screen itself.

Well your one step closer. Atleast you know its not the cable :) Does the screen also flicker when you boot into safe mode (pressing F8 on boot after bios post)? If the problem still persist in safe mode then i guess its either your gpu or monitor. Try to borrow a gpu from someone and see if it solves the problem. Or try the monitor on a pc of your work. Without additional hardware its hard to seek the problem.
