My mum has just come home today with her netbook and shes told me that shes having problems with it.....If the screen is at a 90degree angle then it doesnt work at all but if you go 45degree or less it works fine......So ive researched it a bit and it seems that the problem is that the lcd wire has become loose from the motherboard...Now this is probably the case i reckon because she works in a shop and is always bashing it around showing people stuff online etc.....
So i have found a guide to taking it apart and im slightly hesitant
But im going ahead with it anyways lol
But.....Looking at this picture i cant seem to locate the lcd wire and i dont want to be pulling out all of them and it not making any difference
Heres the picture

Thanks for anyone who locates it for me

She doesn't happen to wear photochromic glasses does she?

I doubt it's a motherboard problem, laptop screens are usually soldered straight on.

?...She doesnt wear any glasses at all....
Well a search of 'screen only working at certain angles' brings a few results that say that it is the most likely culprit.....
What other reasons can there be?
Going on the pictures that follow the one i posted it shows that the motherboard comes completely out so it cant possibly be soldered on? The screen must get released some how but which one do i release is what im asking

Well it's just a curious problem i've come across, to do with the way an LCD works. It uses layers with liquid crystal in between them, and at the right orientation certain glasses can act as a third layer that blocks out all of the light.

How old is it and is it under warranty?

The Lcd wire is most likely one of the top left ones(guessing 2nd from left) disconnect it and see what happens :D also when the screen stops working is there any image at all if you look closely? could be a backlight problem

EDIT-Also don't feel hesitate about taking it apart, its not too hard, I took my first one apart last year, just take it slow and keep track of the screws and it'll be fine

Cheers mate i will try it out when i take it apart tomorrow and nah no image just black.. i think its like when a vga/dvi etc is not plugged all the way in and when you nudge it it gets a picture and when u leave it again it stops......So i think its a similar problem but just the internal connection

Well thanks guys......I have fixed it just now and it was as i suspected the small cable from lcd-motherboard was a little loose....Simply push in and now its working perfect.
