Screen protector needed with Gorilla Glass?

I have a new phone and it has one of those screen protective films which all new devices have. I've kept it on for now but is it best to remove it?

Also, in addition to the above, this phone has Gorilla Glass 6, if I were to remove the film, is there any point in buying a new separate screen protector for it?

Thanks everyone, I've bought a pack of screen protectors from Amazon off the back of comments from @Minstadave and @Orcvader

I usually have a glass one on my note 20 ultra but since I last smashed it a few months ago I haven't bothered to replace it and have found that actually the screen itself has been extremely durable with no scratching.

Do you keep other stuff in the same pocket?
