Screen protector, yes or no?

Just after people's opinions and experiences especially if you don't use them.
The reason I ask, is I have a S8 which is a great phone apart from the god awful curved screen.
I've tried several screen protectors, and all look rubbish in no time, go unresponsive due to not being full glue.
My current protector isn't glass and is now starting to peel, and the tangerine finish is nowhere near as good as glass.

I'm just thinking of ripping it off and going naked.

I just know as soon as I rip this crappy screen protector off I'll go and get a scratch. I grabbed my old Xiaomi Mi5 out of the draw last night and it still looked great with its glass screen protector on

A few years ago I decided to not use a screen protector for my Sony Z2. It didnt take long before it had jumped out of the phone holder down into the car footwell and came back up with three scratches from being face down on some grit, all in the blink of an eye!
