Screen refresh problem in GTI Racing

Hi all, hope someone can help me here.

I'm trying to play GTI Racing (downloaded via Steam) on my LCD monitor - it has worked ONCE but the rest of the time all I get is an "out of frequency" message on the monitor when it starts up, as if it's not forcing the 60Hz my LCD requires.

Any ideas?

I've tried forcing the startup refresh rate in the startup options but the game just ignores those - I tried to start it windowed but it wouldn't do that either!!!

Driving me nuts...

If you've got an nvidia gfx card, force the refresh rate for that resolution to 60hz in the driver options.

Thanks - I've tried to do that but can't seem to work it out. How do I do that?
