Just turned my computer on and for some reason its locked to 640x480. I tried reinstalling gpu drivers etc and it doesn't make a difference. Through steam i tried to load up a game and I think the message said there was a lack of onboard memory, it was difficult to tell though as half of it was cut off the screen.

In task manager it's showing as 3GB of ram being recognised which is right, and i don't think its a prob with the gpu as fans are spinning etc.

Any ideas guys?

I had a similar problem with a radeon card of mine, fans were spinning and picture on the screen but wouldnt change from lowest resolution, turned out the graphics card was faulty and had to replace it. Is it detecting you card properly in the device manager? (mine didnt give correct name when it broke)

Thats the thing its detecting the card ok by all accounts. I put an old card in though and thats working fine so it looks like i may have the same problem as you. Kinda gutted as its max 2 months old.

Will have a last try reinstalling it and if i have no luck i will get it replaced.

can yyou show us which monitor and graphics card is being used?

In general you could use the monitors screen justment buttons to realign the screen so it all appears on. If your with ati you can load up catalyst control center, go to display options and set the resolution from there.
