I'm a relatively new convert to Apple and use a Mac Mini (latest model) as a music server along with a NAS drive.

The MM is headless and I use it with an iPad with the remote app.

All is good, up to a point

................................there are times when headless is frustrating.

For example, when itunes comes up with multiple options for an album (Mark Ronson's Version for example) when you insert a disc, also stupid tagging of albums/artists.

What is the best way around this?

Screen sharing with a MBP or a VNC program for the iPad (or VNC on the MBP).

I am a bit of Mac novice so go easy!!!!

Cheers guys

Dave

You should just be able to turn on screen sharing under sharing preferences on your macbook and as long as you know the network address, access it by pressing cmd + k (whilst on finder) to open the network connect dialog.

Enter vnc://10.0.1.8 or whatever the network address of the mac mini is.

You can browse to it as well if you don't know the address, the machine will have 'connect as' and 'share screen' buttons :)
