Screen size help please

Ok i have a 19 inch non widescreen monitor i am going to buy a widescreen, however i would like to know what the screen size vertically is so it would be great if someone who has a 19 inch widescreen or 20 inch widescreen to measure the screen only not including the frame, vertically for me not diagonally as normal.

My 19 inch standard monitor is the right size height wise so obviously i am going to lose some height as it will be widescreen so would like to know how much height i am going to lose. :)

Thanks.

Basically, a 22" widescreen will be of similar height to your 19" 5:4 screen. It will also have the same dot pitch. If you stick with a 19" Widescreen TFT, you will lose around 1.5 inches of height, but more importantly, lose the dimensional height of 124px. Can you not push to a 1680x1050 20" or 22" widescreen?

Thanks for your reply, i could push to a 20" but would not want to go to much higher than that, you think it is best to go 20" then i guess?

If you want the same physical height, you want a 22", but if that is too much of a push money wise, then yes, definately get a 20". You'll miss the resolution if you get a 19" IMO.
