Screen suddenly goes 'hazy'

When my PC boots up, it all looks fine, then after about 30 seconds, everything on the screen just suddenly has a light hazy film covering it.

Everything just slightly fades/gets lighter, as if you suddenly opened a window and it was shining on the screen or something.

Why is it suddenly doing this?

Interestingly, just took a screenshot before the haze hit and after, (using Gadwin Printscreen) and the screenshots come back looking identical, even though they definitely didn't look the same on-screen when I took them.

Not sure what that would mean, but I'm guessing it would rule out some options.

Also, just had a Windows Update, so booting up to the desktop was a lot longer as it was installing the updates, but the haze didn't happen until I was in the desktop for the usual amount of time, rather than it happening at the same time from when I turned the PC on.

Could this mean its something to do with a setting or program somewhere that causes this once it loads up?

It seems to be an issue with the monitor itself rather then something to do with your computer, if it was the computer doing this you'd see it show up in the screenshots.

My suggestion would be to test the monitor on another system (If possible) and see if the problem occurs there, if it does try changing the cables if you have spares or connect up a spare monitor (if you have one).

What's weird is that it's not doing it immediately, it waits for a good 10 seconds or so then suddenly switches. So would that not indicate it's a settings issue rather than a problem with the monitor itself?
