As all gamers I also suffer from tearing and flickering. The flickering only happens when I have xfire enabled though .. I know that when I enable v sync in game it prevents both but then I sometimes depending on game have input lag .. The flickering issue also stops if I cap the fps at around 60 but then I suffer from the tearing haha it's a no win situation , I don't mind enabling v sync in single player games but I play quite a bit of competitive mp, so I was wondering if there was any other way to help prevent the issue ? Drivers are all up to date and I have 2 270x 4gb cards in my rig :)

Other than vsynce (ignoring new tech such as gsync) to completely remove tearing. A higher refresh monitor, say 120Hz, hides screen tearing a bit more due to the screen refreshing quicker, but it does still exist. It is hardly noticable though and you do really need to look for it at that refresh rate.

Technologies such as gsync and freesync are both bery good news for gamers who are sensitive to screen tearing.

yes unfortunatly everyone has tearing and stutter, flicker, untill monitors get g-sync freesync to solve this.
Vsync solve it but locks fps to 30 and increase input lag

Vsync don't lock to 30fps it's locks to your refresh rate. You mistaking the performance hit if your pc can't maintain 60fps 60hz it will half.
120hz vsync input lag is almost completely gone around just 16ms so long as again you keep 120fps.

Its best to either buy 120hz monitor with gsync or amd Freesync. Or buy a normal 120hz display and cap fps to 120fps tearing is almost gone. It's still there but you must look for it.

If I bought a 120hz monitor though and didn't maintain 120fps would it make a difference? Would it still be ok above 60fps ? And what's best 120hz monitor to buy atm ? Will be a couple of month away before I buy one but it's nice to know !
