Is there a way to fix screen tearing without enabling vsync, the vsync in-game causes mouse lag, the vsync on CCC doesnt work, the vsync on D3DOverrider does the same as example 1 and im at a stump here.

I cant enjoy games on my new pc and monitor like this.

It's like this on my old monitor just less obvious due to differences in resolution

1440x900 old monitor
1920x1080 new one

Old monitor is a samsung syncmaster

New one is a HP2311x

New one is great but the tearing has gotta stop/

It only does 60hz.

You're not the only one with this issue however it really does depend on the game, 120HZ monitors are the way forward i'm afraid

Well ****... Guess i'm stuck suffering this horrible **** or having to use a gamepad with vsync on...

Way to go gaming pc! way to go new gaming rig...

Way to go monitor :D, I remember having an old lcd screen while playing battlefield 2 that was so bad it was as if the screen was tearing itself apart :p

My friend, would this http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=1GBES55G7R1RMRAQE3SN solve my problem, i dont wanna go out and spend more money on ANOTHER monitor but i wanna make sure if i get this one screen tearing would never be an issue again.

If not, suggest me a monitor, I WANT IT TO STOP and it is annoying, i dont wanna spend money if it isnt necessary but if i cant find a fix i might have to!

very few games should have mouse lag with vysnc..

i think skyrim was the first one in ages, make sure your turning off mousesmoothing/hardware acceleration

Every bloody game does it for me.

Even bloody source games, even if it is tiny it does.

Skyrim does a lot, deus ex does not so much but noticably

my mouse has disabled stuff like that so it shouldnt be that

BUT, the thing that may catch it is that it is a cheapo ****** mouse that i got for 10 pounds maybe in 2006, that might cause the mouselag but i doubt it as i dont know but i hope my incoming RAT 7 comes soon to fix this!

lol i can nearly guess its on everytime by the feel with it enabled but in certain games not to bad

in games where higher fps is a benefit then yes it sucks :p

Perhaps try enabling triple buffering with vsync?

I hate vsync for the same reasons as you. Some games can deal with it a bit better though, and triple buffering helps.

That said, I never ever ever have it enabled. I prefer to just put up with screen tearing.

Problem with screen tearing is even if your GPU can’t render 60fps to match your refresh rate, many games just still do tear. Its very annoying and its been something I’ve hated since seeing it all those years ago in the first crop of first person shooters.

I personally hate seeing it all the time, so I enable v sync in game and use triple buffer wherever possible. Most of the games I play don’t display too much mouse lag, it’s a lot less noticeable with a gamepad anyhow.

Its nothing new, its not ‘well done PC gaming’ and anyhow. Be thankful, PS3 gamers are having a mare of a time with screen tearing. I’ve played a lot of PS3 titles that suffer so badly with this horrid effect. Its not even funny anymore so its one of the reasons I PC game a lot anyhow. I can control my own v sync and triple buffer settings etc..

I think your monitor is okay, so if you are still having this problem, maybe invest in a 120Hz monitor: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/search_results.php?sortby=&groupid=17&search=120Hz

That said, i have Vsync on, and dont experience mouse lag. The only game I can remember suffering badly was Dead Space 1 and that was a game problem for which there was a fix. I havent played the two games you mention, so I cant comment on them.

If you are getting mouse lag, I do wonder if the mouse is the issue. It might be worth getting a decent mouse and trying that first.
