Screen tearing

It ruins everything for me. I'm so sensitive to it yet I'm not sure what causes it. Is it the monitor or the video card? What is the best way to reduce it/remove it without vsync? There's noticeable input lag with vsync on.

Its your monitor most monitor have a 60hz refresh rate and most graphic cards can get more than 60 fps depending on game and settings. If its BF3 you have problems with you can reduce the fps by using realmwares BF3 editor just type in max fps 60, its not perfect but its better than screen tearing and less lag than V-Sync or do what i did and buy a Samsung 120hz monitor!
