Screen Tearing

I've been using this Iiyama monitor for over a year

I've noticed a lot of screen tearing when playing games when my FPS goes above 60 FPS, am I correct in saying this is due to playing on a 60hz monitor?

If it is would this be a good choice for a replacement even though I'm not interested in 3d gaming?

Turn Vertical sync on mate. Yes you wouldnt get that problem with a 120 hertz, but turning vsync on should help fix the problem, and that monitor you choose i have, prob the best monitor you could have picked. Get the 3d vision 2 setup also.

Yeah 120hz will fix the screen tear as long as you're not getting more than 120 fps but as has been said you could also just turn v sync on, which should be in the graphics options of most games or you can turn it on globally in your graphics card options.
