Since putting on the new nvidia drivers the screen has gone far too bright , the colour is ridiculous. Tried rolling back to older drivers and also tried different drivers but it wont change, cracking me up now.

Vista 64
1920 X 1080 Full Hd Viewsonic 22inch
Hdmi - dvi connection
Nvidia 295

Please anyone that knows how to fix this other than formatting let me know, its making my games crash also, they refuse to play on this brightness.

Thanks

On your monitor push 1,2,2 and then use ^ and v to change brightness to make sure it's your gpu and not the monitor.

Otherwise use drivercleaner/sweeper and do a re-install of the drivers.

no didnt help mate, its defo the card or drivers, ive already used driver sweeper and reinstalled the drivers and it came back, but ill try again. The colours are standing out so much its giving me a headache.

i tried the newest drivers mate, then after the screen went really bright, i removed that driver and have tried 2 different ones, the driver down from the new one and the one which came with the gainward 295 disk, all are doing the same thing now. :(. So annoyed.

Right ok running another cleaner programme, the colour is back to normal thank god. But now the screen size is messed up, 1920 x 1080 is set but nothing is fitting on the screen like it was before lol

What drivers caused the problem ? it may help someone else out.

Check your cable and adaptor. Has your monitor got a DVI port ?

Could your card or monitor be knackered and the timing is just coincidental?

If I were you I'd get a friend to fetch their screen and PC around. Try their screen on your PC, then your PC on your screen so you can rule components out.

ive fixed the screen colour now mate, the only problem im having now ive posted in another thread under graphics cards, i better not post it here too.

Leeroy, I've only just got your trust message, I'm sorry but I can't think of anything else it could be other than what's already been suggested. If I do think of anything I'll let you know.
