Screen turns black and turn full speed and are very loud while playing games sometimes

I don't exactly understand what is causing this to happen but sometimes while playing games my screen will just go black and my fans will go faster and get louder and the only way to bypass this is by shutting the computer down via the power button. Any help would be extremely appreciated and thanks in advance

It only started happening recently and the pc is about 2-3 years old with some new parts installed a few months back and seems to only happen on a select few games by the looks of things

Have you tried changing to a much older, or much newer graphics driver?

You could also try massively underclocking the card in the drivers to reduce power consumption.

What were the new parts?

Have you monitored temps when this happens? What fans ramp up?

I'll try to switch to a different driver now and i'll try underclocking. The new parts were just a new psu and watercooling for the cpu.

I will try to monitor the temps and i have no idea which fans ramp up although i have a suspicion that it is the gpu.
