Screens (Dual) and usb issue.

Ive searched for this already, however im not sure what the best way to put it is in a search.

Every so often if i leave my pc for a long period of time and then plug a usb device into my usb hub (havent tried onboard usb yet but will when i get home) my screens go blank for a few seconds as if ive changed the settings on them and applied and then go back to normal, but my default screen chooses the secondary screen even though the settings are correct. i cant see this being a hardware issue as i am currently remoting to my desktop with logmein and getting the same result. any ideas what i could try?

im running windows 7 32-bit.

What USB device are you plugging in?

You should definitely try it without the hub.

It does it on any usb that isnt already plugged in. ive used a usb hard drive and my htc phone.

i did look through the power settings too just as a thought and notice the usb power suspend was enabled so disabled it just to see if its this.

ok ive tried without the hub when i got home from work and still having the same issue. its weird. does anyone know of any way i can see what the computer is doing when this happens? like recording a log or something. im just not sure if its because of the usb however when i log into logmein it chooses my secondary screen instead of my primary one. its really bugging me as i never had this issue before i had to format my pc.
