screens not turning on

hi guys, i have a bit of a problem. recently my screens have not been recovering from standby when the pc is turned on.

they don't recover even if they are then turned off then on again. took me 4 goes of rebooting to get them on today.

might my graphics card be going?

what OS is it? my pal had an issue with Vista when it went into stand by it wouldnt come out for ages... sometimes had to reboot.

it is vista but this is from a cold boot, before it even begins to think about loading the OS.

Do you get any beeps or anything on boot? other than the usual beep.

nope, it is a completely normal boot, except the screens don't turn on

no, not really. but it is an intermittant problem. i only chose to bring it up as it happened today after a few weeks of not happening at all. and it was pretty bad today. the other times only 1 reboot was needed.

I had this on an xp machine, it turned out to be the psu. Probably irrelevant but I thought I'd mention it.

hmm, might be: i have a hiper
